We are constantly confronted with thoughts and situations throughout our day. When presented with things that challenge us we have two pairs of glasses that we instinctively reach for to put on before we process. They are the spectacles of fear or the spectacles of faith.
Spectacles of fear distort the facts. They immediately have us see things from a pessimistic perspective. Wearing the fear spectacles will bring about anxiety and worry. The fear spectacles always make us approach the situation from a worst-case scenario. And the end result is stress and drama and ultimately conflict; conflict within our minds and conflict with others.
The faith glasses are the immediate opposite. When confronted with a thought or a situation if we put on the spectacles of faith then we will be able to see the facts. We will approach the situation from a perspective of optimism. The faith spectacles invoke feelings of peace and serenity. And the end result is clarity, resolution, and peace in our minds and peace with others.
