Family Background

If you have a family, chances are you’ve been hurt. One of the greatest sources of hurt in one’s life will come from a family member(s.) As beneficial as a family can be, there is a dark side that many of us experience. Most everyone suffers from what is called “family of origin” issues. These are hurts and deep soul wounds that we receive between the ages of 2-18 and they don’t go away. They develop into ARB (anger, resentment, and bitterness). They get buried and begin to fester and will negatively affect every aspect of our lives until we confront them, remove them and replace them.

All families are dysfunctional but that doesn’t mean that one has to live the rest of their lives dysfunctional because of it. Learning to identify the hurts and soul wounds, understand the role forgiveness can play, establish boundaries and reclaim ones dignity can reignite one’s life and change a generation.

I would make an excellent life choice for anyone who has experienced soul wounds or hurts from a parent or sibling as I have personal experience with being hurt, living with the hurt for decades, and then being set free and moving forward with peace and confidence.
