Sexuality
Madonna in her song Material Girl, said, “we are living in a material world and I am a material girl.’ That might have been true for the ’90s but today we are living in a sexual world. Never before in our generation have we experienced such a sexual revolution. Despite this sexual revolution, sadly, there are still people who feel guilt and shame for who they are sexually or who they wish to become then there are those who aren’t quite sure who they are sexually. With terms such as bisexual, pansexual, transsexual, gender fluid, heteroflexible, bi-situational, it’s no wonder people are confused. Add to that terms like swinger, lifestyle, open relationship, non-monogamy, and polyamory and the confusion only grows greater.
For a person who knows they are not just heteronormal, it can be very challenging and scary and unsafe to talk about how they’re feeling or to just ask questions. Who can you talk to that is non-judgmental or that has experience?
I would be an excellent choice for a life coach if an individual or a couple is considering exploring their sexuality. I have personal experience in many of these areas and I feel that personal experience gives me the credibility to help one navigate their sexuality in a safe space.
One of the major hurdles I have dealt with is growing up in an Evangelical Church, all the while fighting my truth of being gay. I did not want to disappoint my church or family. But on the inside, I was drowning from being what everyone else needed and not looking out for myself. Rob has helped me to understand that I am me. He encouraged me to embrace feelings and desires I have and to understand that they are not corrupt but are normal for me.
His friendship, encouragement, and support have been tremendously helpful in my quest to find happiness just being the best me I can be. "
I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering the lifestyle or a non-monogamous relationship. Oh, and his 24/7 availability came in handy quite often."
